On behalf of the Newfoundland Aboriginal Womens Network,
I welcome you to our website. Incorporated in December 2005 as a
not-for-profit organization, the Newfoundland Aboriginal Womens Network grew up out of the need for Aboriginal women to reclaim their political authority over decisions directly affecting the lives of themselves,
their families and communities.

We hope that this website will be a tool to reinforce the importance
of keeping our culture foremost in our lives and in our communities; to communicate issues and problems shared within our communities;
to create a contact and network; to provide information and support
to women to develop groups in their own communities; and to encourage
growth in the groups that are already established We hope you find the information and resources available on this site useful.
