National Day of Awareness for Murdered and Missing Indigenous Women, Girls, and 2 Spirited People
The Newfoundland Aboriginal Women's Network would like to invite the community Sunday, May 5th, 2024 for the National Day of Awareness for Murdered and Missing Indigenous Women, Girls, and 2 Spirited People. Please join us for 1:00 pm at the Healing Garden located outside the Stephenville Lions Club, 2 Woodland St. in Stephenville.
Please wear something red, and bring your drum or rattle. All people are welcome to join us. Please feel free to share.

Friday, April 12th, 2024 6:00PM - 8:00PM at the Stephenville Lions Club (2 Woodland Street, Stephenville, NL).
Phyllis (Jack) Webstad is the Founder and Ambassador of the Orange Shirt Society, and tours the country telling her story and raising awareness about the impacts of the residential school system. She has now published two books, the “Orange Shirt Story” and “Phyllis’s Orange Shirt” for younger children. (https://orangeshirtday.org/phyllis-story/#about-phyllis)
Phyllis Webstad will also be visiting a number of school visits in the Bay St. George region next week.
Petroglyph Painting
We are excited to offer two painting workshops by Mi’kmaq Artist Marcus Gosse. We have limited spaces for each workshop, all supplies are included and there is no cost! For this workshop we will be painting a “Petroglyph Landscape on Canvas”.
Saturday, March 30 from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm at the Newfoundland Aboriginal Women's Network Office at 90 Main Street, Stephenville.
